What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading. An annual, multi-day TED conference in Vancouver, BC invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak or perform for 18 minutes or less on topics they find interesting. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, and Nandan Nilekani, all speaking on topics they're most passionate about. Many of these takes are made available for free at TED.com.
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized TED-like events that bring people together to enlighten audiences through unique experiences and viewpoints. The "x" in TEDx represents an independently organized TED event.
What is TEDxUofW?
TEDxUofW is a registered student organization established to bring inspriational and informative TED style talks to the University of Washington. Since 2012, our organization has sought to give amazing speakers a receptive audience to share their passion. Our all student-run organization has put on a sold-out event for four years in a row, gathering a collection of great creative thinkers, scientific minds, community leaders, and much more.
